A casting call may require you to rely on many or all aspects of your range of talents, and your ability to remain calm and cool in stressful, high-stakes situations.

Maybe you have never been on a casting call in your life and the idea of trying to act in front of people under that much stress is not very attractive to you. Well, you're going to have to get used to the idea because unless you're Nick Cage's cousin you are going to have to go on many a casting call in order to get your foot in the door.

Who invented the casting call? Who knows? Some sadistic freak probably that enjoyed torturing their fellow man in the name of art, but that's not important now. The fact is that's the way things are done and we're stuck with it.
